Sleep Properly To Ensure Happiness

I feel quite tired, it was a very hectic week. I hardly slept for 4-5 hours only in the night for the last one week; daily returning home from work after 7 O'clock in the evening and watching Twenty20 cricket world cup on television till 11 and after that sitting in front of laptop till 1.30 or 2 O'clock, and again waking up 6.30 in the morning. I know it's not good for health, already I have some problem in my digestive system (medically called Esophagitis with Hiatus Hernia).
Normally a human being should have a sound sleep of 6-8 hours in the night, I read somewhere that lack of sleep increases risk of early death. People who sleep for less than six hours each night were 12% more likely to die prematurely than those who get the recommended 6-8 hours sleep. I don't know the actual fact, but I can say that sleep is one of the key factors in our daily life, sleep is needed for the body to be able to function properly. When you don't get enough sleep, you find the next day very irritating... you have an inability to think clearly, and feel very unhappy. To ensure happiness through out the day you need to have a good night of sleep.
So, without any delay I will start sleeping early from next week onwards... right from the beginning of the week, I mean from Monday I will try to sleep by 11 O'clock in the night.  

Pleasant Weekend

The weekend was very pleasant. The temperature was roaming around 42 degree to 44 degree Celsius for the last 15 days or so. Evening thunder shower in the last couple of days brought down the mercury height. A big relief from the scorching heat wave for the last couple of weeks. Yesterday the maximum temperature recorded was 36.7 degree Celsius, 2 degree below normal. The weather of yesterday evening was awesome, we went for a drive and then had a cup of coffee; And while coming back visited Chungwa, (one of the best Chinese restaurant of Delhi and we are the regular customer of them) and had some Chinese dishes. The rain and the pleasant weather is more than welcome by the Delhiites, people enjoyed every moment of this super cool weekend. We hope the weather continues for some more days so that we can enjoy it more.  

Scorching And Very Hot Weekend

I had planned to go to the stadium (Firozshah Kotla) to watch today’s crucial IPL cricket match (virtual quarter final) between our team Delhi Daredevils and Deccan Chargers. But, I had to change my plan due to scorching heat outside for the last couple of days. It is the mid April, but Saturday recorded the highest temperature in the month of April since 1958 with the maximum temperature touching 43.7 degree Celsius, eight degree above normal. Today’s temperature is also around 43 degree Celsius. In the evening, I went for shopping; purchased some shirts for me and had burger at McDonalds. After coming back from shopping I have drunk lots of water. During the whole day, my main intake was water… lots of water… cold water, chilled water, with Glucon-D, even Cold drinks also.

As per the Met department, the temperature will fall marginally to about 40 degrees Celsius. A western disturbance, approaching the western Himalayan region, will bring rain to Himachal Pradesh and may be even Punjab.  

Now watching match on television, Delhi is not doing well. Six wickets have fallen, still 60 runs required from 30 balls with only 4 wickets in hand… it’s difficult… very very difficult. Oh no! One more wicket’s gone. The match’s gone I guess. 

A Big Day of My Small Life

Today is one of the memorable days of my little blogging life (it's only 3months old). Today the flag counter of my blogs reaches the half century mark... yes it counts 50 now. It's a big achievement for me, I am really thankful to all of them who have visited my blogs from all over the world. It's really encouraging to me, and it increases the self confidence also. I've reached one of the milestones in the way of my successful blogging career. Presently my blog has only 12 followers, my next target is to achieve 25 followers and 60 flag counts. For that I need to work harder and concentrate on interesting posts.   

Bright and Sunny Sunday

Its one more Sunday today, but this isn't a cloudy and foggy one... it's a bright and sunny Sunday after a long time. I've completed all my works scheduled for the morning, posted my weekly post 'Predictions for the week ahead' also in my other blog 'Whats Ur Star Says'. Now watching the final match of the Australian Open 2010 between Roger Federer and Andy Murray on TV, and also thinking for the topic to post.

Yesterday I watched the biggest hit Hindi movie of present time '3 Idiots'. It's really superb... the story, the direction and ofcourse the acting of all actors... everything. The story is about three engineering students... how they study, how they endure mental pressure, how they enjoy their college life and how they help their friends in bad times. It really made me nostalgic... it reminded me my college life with my friends. These three or four years in college is the best time period in everyones life I guess, ... really unforgettable.
It has a message also, and the message is for all parents... let your children to walk on the way they want to walk, not the way you want your children to walk... you discuss with them, if you find them wrong then guide them, advise them but never force them.
I really enjoyed any movie after a long time... all over it's a great weekend I could say.  

Angel's health problem continues

We are very much worried about Angel's health, it has deteriorated...vaginal discharge has increased. Yesterday she hardly had anything, today we went to clinic...got ultrasound of her abdomen done. Doctor said it's a case of 'PYOMETRA', it happens to female dogs due to hormonal changes. Doctor advised to continue the medicines whatever he prescribed earlier and to monitor the discharge rate. He also advised to get a vaginal swab culture done and get another ultrasound done after a week or so. Based on the next ultrasound he will decide about uterus operation.
Now I need to search about this disease on net...if anybody is aware of this disease please advise me. Is it curable without surgery?...Any medicines?...any homeopathic medicines?

Another Sunday - its lazy again

I am very sorry friends, I didn’t write any post for the last two days. Actually I didn’t get time to write, because Angel hasn’t been well. After celebrating her 7th birthday three days back, on 14th she stopped eating. We got her Blood Test done, infection in uterus and little problems in liver found. Doctor prescribed some medicines and told to comeback after a week, if uterus infection continues then he will decide the next step i.e. Ultrasound, uterus operation (if required) etc. Now she feels better than before, yesterday night she had a couple of white balls (its egg, better know as white ball to Angel).
Another Sunday and again it’s a very foggy Sunday here. It’s very cold too, so no plans to come out of home. Again full of lad (already explained to you, just to remember … popular term of Jadavpur University, Kolkata, it means laziness). Its 8.30 now and I am writing something, quite unnatural…it’s the time to stay in bed… today is a Sunday friends. But my sleep (sound sleep after some days) got spoiled by the most irritating sound i.e. my calling bell rang by my maid, so I had to wake up at 7.30 today.
Angel is sleeping now, sound sleep… I’ll have to prepare my breakfast and cook something for lunch and keep my eyes on TV for India-Bangladesh cricket match. And ofcourse I will sit with my laptop also, for some tweeting, emailing, blogging etc.
Ok friends… got to go now… feeling hungry, comeback soon with a surprise.

14th January - Angel's Birthday

Today is 14th January, very special day. Why so special? Guess? My Indian friends will say it's Makar Sankranti or Pongal. But the day is very special to me for a different reason, birthday of someone very special to me. Her name is Angel; I already mentioned her name in one of my previous posts. Do you remember? Okay, no problem. Let me introduce, Angel is a very cute baby. Now look at her picture.

Yes...she is Angel, our pet dog.
Couple of hours back we celebrated Angel's 7th birthday. She cut her favorite Black Forest cake and she had all her favorite items...Pizza, Mutton Seekh Kebab etc.

We sang for Angel... “Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to dear Angel, happy birthday to you”

Lazy Sunday

It’s a very foggy and cloudy Sunday here; raining also…rather I should say drizzling. No plans to come out of home. Right now I am trying to think of things to do. There isn’t anything that sounds interesting. It’s a very sleepy and lazy weekend…full of lad (popular term of college days; people passed out from JU, Kolkata knows it very well, it means laziness). I have done nothing since morning, got up at 11.30…had some brunch and after that in front computer. I had to take a bath since I didn’t take yesterday…oops…sorry. Again back to computer, tweeting, checking my email obsessively. I tried to watch a movie but I lost interest. I worked on my blogs; I wish my readers would go up for all of them, also the followers. Only 3 followers… hahaha…need to increase quickly. I would like to get to 50 or more, it is like a little goal. Planning to order a pizza in the evening…what should I order? Farm House from Domino’s or Paneer El Rancho from Pizza Hut? Pizza reminds me Angel and Sonia always, I never had pizza without them… thinking of Sonia and wondering what she is doing right now, expecting a call right now. I miss our Sundays that we use to have together.
