Chile's Earthquake shortened day???

The earthquake, magnitude of 8.8, which killed more than 700 people in Chile on saturday, probably shifted the Earth's axis and shortened the lenght of a day, NASA scientist announced on Monday. Chile earthquake - the fifth strongest ever recorded, according to the USGS - should have shortened an Earth day by 1.26 millionths of a second, said Richard Gross, a geophtsicist at Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.
