8th March - International Women's Day

Today is 8th March, International Women's Day, a major day of global celebration of women. It ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women to a celebration for women's achievements in economics, politics and society.
The International Women's Day (IWD) is also celebrated as the first spring holiday in the northern hemisphere.
The first IWD was celebrated on 28th February, 1909 in US following a declaration by Socialist Party of America. On 19th March, 1911 IWD was marked by over a million people in Austria, Germany, Denmark and Switzerland. Furthermore, on the eve of World War I, women across Europe held peace rallies on 8th March, 1913.
In many countries the day is an official holiday - Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, China (for women only), Croatia, Cuba, Georgia, Guinea-Bissau, Eritrea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Madagaskar (for women only), Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Nepal (for women only), Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and Zambia.

On this occasion we should remember all the women in our life and make them feel truly special as they always are.

A beautiful woman draws strength from troubles,
Smiles during distress and grows stronger
with prayer and hopes
Wishing all women 'a very happy Women's Day'
